Skybound is a beginner friendly course focused on painting clouds with gouache. It is a hands on, approachable way to build your technique while also taking time to slow down and really see what is around you.

Clouds make the perfect subject. They are expressive, unpredictable, and full of form and atmosphere. When you spend time studying them, you start to notice more - not just in the sky, but in your own creative process.

In this course, Katy demonstrates how to work with gouache step by step, from choosing materials, to designing shapes, to layering color. You will get short, practical video lessons, printable templates and handouts, image references, and a few optional journal prompts to help you connect your painting practice to your sense of wonder.

By the end, you will have a set of cloud paintings, a better understanding of gouache, and hopefully a renewed appreciation for taking time to create.

You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to create a little space to experiment and enjoy the process.
